  • Elf Girls Like Princes With HUGE Towers

    September 28, 2008

    LOCATION: Sunfury Spire, Silvermoon City

    FACTION: Horde

The giant fountain of spitting fish and water power over women is a bit much for me, it screams innuendo. Then again, I’m the one who is playing Freud with the massive amounts of large towers that are scattered around the city (The largest being the home of Kael’thas himself, the Sunfury Spire.) Inside the tower is where the three current leaders of the blood elf stand, doing mostly nothing all day. Why should they? They’ve been having me run around and kill any possible threat for the past 13 levels for them. To the sides, you will find either a group of Priests with a large glowing statue (I have no clue why they have a giant glowing statue. But who am I to question those who blindly follow the paths of light, I’m a warlock.) or a mage torturing each other with repeated polymorphings into various creatures (One of which is a giraffe from the Barrens. Yet another piece of the puzzle which leaves me with… about 3,998 pieces left to put together… I should have started with a smaller puzzle).

  • A Thousand Is Exaggerating

    September 28, 2008

    Location: Shimmering Flats, Thousand Needles

    Faction: Neutral

I really think the Shimmering Flats need to be separated from Thousand Needles.  It does not make sense to have an entire zone named after a very visual motif such as dozens (Not thousands, but I’m going to assume that Tauren struggle with counting.  They are very nature orientated, and probably don’t care for scientific things like numbers very much).  But then to say:

“These are the Thousand Needles, for they look like a thousand needles”.

“What about that flat part? Is that part of the Thousand Needles?”

“Yes. Because they do not look like needles, therefore they are the more than a thousand not-needles”

Seriously, come on. How do you explain the Shimmering Flats being part of that region?  I say give it to Tanaris.  Just redraw the lines.  The goblins won’t complain. They control most of the flats anyway.

  • Alien Egg, My Aching %&*…

    September 28, 2008

    Location: Windbreak Canyon, Thousand Needles

    Faction: Horde

There’s a bit of business involving the quest Alien Egg.  The quest details an Alien Egg that is guarded by the serpents, as if it were one of their own.  So I nab the thing and turn it in and, you won’t believe this, a serpent pops out of it! Shocking I know.  I am starting to think some of the quest givers aren’t necessarily working to better the Horde, they are just clueless.  It’s an egg being guarded by serpents. No where in the quest text does anyone attempt to think that it might belong to a serpent.  That’s too big a concept for them.  Taurens. Amirite?

  • Flags Are Serious Business

    September 28, 2008

Location: Warsong Gulch, The Barrens and Ashenvale (Respectively)

    Faction: Neutral

I’m not going to even touch on the fact that the whole point of this “strategic” battle is to grab the other sides flag. We all know that it is ridiculous and requires a magnanimous leap of willing disbelief. So, no need to talk about it. But how about the fact that this big dispute between two warring factions that each have not one, but MULTIPLE armies at their disposal are settling their differences with a volunteer force playing a 10-on-10 match?

I have met blades many times with both the Sentinels and the Outriders outside of those battlegrounds, and I would not describe them as needing additional help. So why get a group of ten rag tag adventurers to do the dirty work for you? Well, I suppose it is economical. Why waste your own forces in a senseless battle when a bunch of punk kids would do it for “honor” and a piece of wood that can be traded for something later on. I can see the reason in it all. But even if I can reason why you would take ten random people and put them into a fight, what are they fighting for? This is claimed to be a strategic point of conflict. What is so strategic about it? Arathi Basin is a hub of powerful resources, Alterac Valley is a stretch a land that’s control would ensure a staging ground for overwhelming control of the remaining territories in Lordaeron, The Eye of the Storm is a point of controlling territories in a hazard area (Similar to the towers of the Eastern Plaguelands). But what does Warsong Gulch offer?

  • I Love Illidan Followed By V*A*S*H*J…

    September 28, 2008

So how exactly would you, from a role playing experience, justify doing a dungeon more than once?  How many times can you write off the dark evil as not extinguished but merely wounded.  Is it possible to explain why no matter how many times you kill a level 21 elite, he keeps coming back? I mean, at the endgame level, you can usually justify anything by simply saying, “Dude. It’s ILLIDAN! Of course he came back. Do you really think we could take down ILLIDAN?”  I’m not saying that it’s that believable, and you would be beaten to death by your fellow RP-ers by saying ‘dude,’ but it’s a little bit better than saying that a grumpy evil wizard just doesn’t want to die.
