The Final Fantasy Legend

Unlike Final Fantasy Adventure, The Final Fantasy Legend was not a Final Fantasy spin off. It was an in fact the first entry in the SaGa series but marketed as a Final Fantasy game outside of Japan. Inspired by the tabletop game “Gamma World”, The Final Fantasy Legend features post-apocalyptic settings, futuristic technology, medieval weaponry, and psychic warfare as you climb an endless tower that connects an infinite number of worlds to literally fight and dethrone God.

  • It’s not THE Final Fantasy. It’s not even A Final Fantasy. If anything it’s a dirty lie!

  • We have to beat a Bandit who is a talking lizard, who is blackmailing an octopus girl into marriage, so that the octopus can be forced into marriage with the king… so we can get some armor.

    This place is weird.

  • Childe Vry to the Dark… wait… no… uh…. Crystal? Nope. Lemme check the wiki… oh. Tower. It’s just called The Tower. Childe Vry to the Tower came? Fine. Let’s go with it.

  • It certainly is NOT better down where it’s wetter…

  • The next world is in the sky. Sure. Why not? But I draw the line at Divine White Tiger Sky Pirate Lords.

  • Once again we ascend up the tower. Don’t worry. Everyone is only MOSTLY dead. We’ll just get to the next world and go to the inn and… and… IS THAT TOKYO?

  • In which I decide I pretty much hate birds.

  • It’s time to face off with the monster disrupting the worlds of the Tower… wait… why is it suddenly getting further away?

  • Well, that solves the ‘Problem of Evil’ – God’s a bored jerk.
